Again you ask me why? Why do I paint what I paint? Why? is too small a question for art. Give that question to the critics, OR, enjoy it, dissolve yourself into it, you might find, that you know you can answer your own question. If a you are a woman and you prefer female images-great! It isn't a gender studies class.
I paint what I want whenever I paint it.this reminds me of when in college the resident artist was an oil painter, so lucky for me! But one thing she liked to do is ask why, where did it come from, I think you know. I'd say
I don't know, She'd say I think you know...whatever, it's not all cerebral. I like to plan, pace myself with drawings and measurements etc. But the end is fundamentally out of my hands.
