Not doing the paint, working on paper. Still working with the pencils and paper. It is so very cold here in the north Chihuahan desert.

My only "assignment" is the experiment and to transcend redundant tendencies. The experiment is the motor that drives the scientist too. Think of my paintings as mini evolutions, they evolved and continue to evolve as long as they are reflected upon. Think of these new paintings as little waves emanating. Waves carrying particles of form! Magnetic waves too.

These paintings are offerings to you, for you to feed on and for you to bring your feelings, angles, perceptions, myriads of contexts, experiences. That's what I do--I feed off you, the others. It would be egotistical if I claimed responsibility for these beauties. It is a collective process, my painting is, and I thank you.

Again you ask me why? Why do I paint what I paint? Why? is too small a question for art. Give that question to the critics, OR, enjoy it, dissolve yourself into it, you might find, that you know you can answer your own question. If a you are a woman and you prefer female images-great! It isn't a gender studies class.
I paint what I want whenever I paint it.this reminds me of when in college the resident artist was an oil painter, so lucky for me! But one thing she liked to do is ask why, where did it come from, I think you know. I'd say
I don't know, She'd say I think you know...whatever, it's not all cerebral. I like to plan, pace myself with drawings and measurements etc. But the end is fundamentally out of my hands.
